Steel is a strong, durable and very versatile building material. Compared to a timber framed home, a steel framed designed home is lightweight and easy to handle and because 60% of all steel used in Australia is made from recycled material, it is eco-friendly too.

How much do your homes cost? |
|
Every home is different, so prices vary depending upon a number of key factors. These include the size of your kit home, the amount of the construction work you undertake yourself and its location on your chosen site.
If you undertake all of the basic construction work yourself, then it is likely that your steel framed home will cost up to 40% less than if you had it built for you.

Can you help me design my own home? |

Yes. Component Homes provides a complete design service, from concept designs to working drawings as well as having a range of standard kit home designs.

How do I become an owner-builder? |
|
In order to build your own home, you need an owner builders licence and register with the Builder’s Registration Board.

Yes. Our steel framed homes are ideally suited to building on sloping blocks. Our extensive experience in elevated floor systems means we can tailor a design to suit even the most challenging of sites.

Your Component Homes Construction Manual is very comprehensive and tailored to your individual home. So whether you are erecting a DIY home or you decide to get a sub-contractor to do it for you, it is very easy to follow. Even then, if you need further advice or assistance we are available at any time.
